Screening for dyslexia

The Dyslexia Association of Bexley Bromley Greenwich & Lewisham is in the process of reviewing their child and adult screening service due to reduced volunteer availability.

While this review is ongoing, no further screenings are being offered at this time.

If you would like to register your interest in any future screening service that may be offered, please email your enquiry to info@dyslexiawise.co.uk.

Please note that screenings cannot be used for getting extra exam support or concessions. Please contact our helpline for exam concession advice.

Screenings vs Assessments

Please be aware that Screening tests can only give an indication of possible dyslexic difficulties.

Screening tests are NOT Diagnostic Assessments. A Diagnostic Assessment is carried out by a qualified assessor, and is the only way that dyslexia can be formally diagnosed.

The British Dyslexia Association advises that if a screening test indicates that there is a moderate to high probability of dyslexic difficulties, that this is followed up with a Diagnostic Assessment to determine the precise nature of the difficulties, and how they can best be supported.
